NP/EFSA/HUCAP/2024/01 - Taxation & inheritance in the European Union for EU Official, Temporary and Contract Agents

Background:

The Authority does not have internal knowledge on European taxation. This very complex matter, with differences thorough the Member States requires of an expertise that will not be possible to have in-house. Staff requests support on European tax matters and a presentation and some private support is offered yearly. The presentation will be delivered online and we will extend the possibility to support the staff during the year.

Objectives:

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is purchasing the services of a recognised expert on European Taxation and protocols applicable to EU staff, thus with knowledge of the EC staff regulation and European Member states applicable laws. The services include a dedicated presentation to EFSA staff, once a year through half a day physical meeting in EFSA premises (Parma Italy) about:

a) Their Fundamental Rights under EU law;

b) EU official and taxation;

c) Cross border inheritance in the EU.

The presentation will be followed by half a day private consultation for staff. Following the presentation and throughout the year the service will include 20 hours of consultancy via e-mail, phone or virtual meetings on issues related to private issues on taxation.
