Scientific staff

EFSA employs Scientific Officers with different profiles to contribute to its risk assessments. If you are employed as a Scientific Officer, your knowledge and expertise will feed into EFSA’s opinions and other outputs, which inform decisions taken by risk managers at EU and national level on food safety.

Who can apply?

Scientists with proven expertise in the area specified in the call. For an overview of the topics EFSA’s scientists work on, see here.

Requirements

  • Candidates must come from one of the EU Member States, Iceland or Norway.
  • You should have a level of education that corresponds to completed university studies of at least 3 years, attested by a diploma.
  • You should have thorough knowledge of one of the official EU languages (ideally English as EFSA’s working language) and satisfactory knowledge of another EU language.
