Establishment and operations of the Scientific Committee, Scientific Panels and of their Working Groups

This decision reflects:

• the amendments to Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 introduced by Regulation (EU) 2019/1381 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on the transparency and sustainability of the EU risk assessment in the food chain with respect to selection of members of the Scientific Committee and Scientific Panels;
• certain updates aimed at leaning procedural aspects with regards to the renewal of the term of office and the operations of the Scientific Committee, Scientific Panels and their Working Groups.
