Webinar on confidentiality assessment and content sanitisation in the context of the Transparency Regulation

Since 27 March 2021 the Transparency Regulation has introduced new services, processes and provisions that have strongly impacted the lifecycle and renewal procedure for applications.

The aim of this webinar was to explain the process and tools in place at EFSA related to confidentiality assessment and content sanitisation, as well as to provide applicants with practical tips and to address questions encountered in recent months.

The speakers provided an in-depth explanation of the overall confidentiality assessment and lessons learnt and described essential steps in the process. Also, there were three instructional videos providing detailed guidance on the submission of confidentiality requests to EFSA via three specially developed IT tools.

An additional focus of the webinar was personal data handling in the context of confidentiality decision-making.

Finally, there was an overview of the content sanitisation process at EFSA.

Over 300 participants attended the webinar representing SMEs, business operators, research organisations and national competent authorities from Europe and worldwide.

The webinar ended with a live Q&A session, during which speakers answered the participants’ questions.
